During his sophomore season at Lakeland Community College, Banton averaged 15 points and six rebounds per game, leading the Lakers to their first Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) title in 18 years. He was recognized as Lakeland’s Male Athlete of the Year. Lakeland compiled a 51-15 overall record, which is the third-most wins in program history, during Barton’s time at the school. Following a transfer to Roger State University in 2012, Banton averaged 10 points per game, and scored the fourth-most points in school history in a single game, with 34. Banton averaged 8.0 points and 2.8 rebounds on .465 percent shooting from the floor for his career for the Hillcats.
